Graduate Programs — Special Education, M. Ed.

The M.Ed. with a major in Special Education prepares educators to work directly with students who have disabilities and as collaborators with families, other professionals, and administrators. The College of Education works with its two campus laboratory schools for children with special needs, Starpoint School for children with learning disabilities and the KinderFrogs School for toddlers with Down syndrome. These schools create exceptional opportunities for students pursuing this degree.

The program is designed for students who are already certified in special or elementary education.

Students already holding a certificate in special education may minor in another area compatible with their interests in special education, such as early childhood, English as a second language, or educational administration. Program details can be found in the TCU Online Catalog.

The program requires a thesis or treatise and final oral exam.

Advisors: Dr. Nancy Meadows, Dr. Kay Stevens, & Dr. Theresa Prosser
