Certification Texas
law requires every person seeking educator certification to perform satisfactorily
on comprehensive examinations. The purpose of these
examinations is to ensure that each educator has the necessary content
and professional knowledge to perform satisfactorily in Texas public
schools. All teacher education program candidates applying for Texas
certification after graduation must pass the state certification exam
in their chosen content or teaching field and must pass a pedagogy
and professional responsiblity exam at the appropriate
level – EC-4
(Early Childhood through 4th grade), Middle School (grades 4-8),
Secondary
School
(grades
8-12) or All-Level (EC-12).
