The M.Ed. with a major in Elementary Education prepares individuals to become instructional leaders who are current in their knowledge of elementary education and versatile in their skills and who work successfully in school environments characterized by multi-ethnic populations and diverse student needs. TCU graduates are highly skilled, versatile, and in great demand for private and public school positions as well as trainers and curriculum coordinators in business and industry.

Elementary Education students are immersed in a wide range of experiences in traditional and nontraditional educational settings. Our graduates are steeped in pedagogical knowledge that contributes to more effective teaching of subject matter and are prepared to meet the educational and emotional needs of diverse learners and to better understand how learning occurs in urban settings.

Students receiving the M.Ed. with a major in Elementary Education have a solid knowledge base and background in the theoretical and practical aspects of the educational contexts in which teaching and learning occur.
