Teaching

Before becoming a university professor, I was an 8th grade teacher in Florida. After graduate school, I taught at Georgia State University for 29 years, the last 10 as dean. Now as dean at TCU, I only teach every other year or so offering a seminar on educational issues relevant to the study of behaviorism and B. F. Skinner.

Research

My research has varied over the years and has been on such issues as discipline in schools, philosophy and language, the meaning of applied science, and human learning. Among my favorite publications are:

I served as Editor of The Behavior Analyst from 1990-1991 (Volumes 13 and 14) and was on the Boards of Editors for The Behavior Analyst, l980-l982; 1986-1988; Behavior Modification, 1984-1988; Behaviorism, 1984-1990; Behavior Analysis, 1988-1989; and Behavior and Philosophy, 1990-1992.
